【摘要】:Theapplicationproceduresinthesetestmethodsyieldfilmsfreeoftheirregularities,artifacts,andvariationsinherentinbrushing,spraying,ortrowelling.Accordingly,thesetestmethodsmeasurethestrengthofautohesivebondsbetweentwoautohesivefilmswhosetopographyischaracteristicoftheautohesiveitselfratherthantheartifactsoftheapplicationprocedure.Itisrecommendedthatthisinformationbeconsideredinextrapolatingresultsfromthesetestmethods.Themagnitudeofthemeasuredbondstrengthsalsodependsonotherfactorssuchasfilmthickness,themannerinwhichpressureisapplied,themagnitudeanddurationoftheapplicationofpressure,andthetemperatureandhumidityatvariousstagesofthetest.Accordingly,theseparametersshouldbechoseninamannerconsistentwiththeenduseoftheautohesive.Incaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedresultswhenusingthesetestmethodsforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativeteststodiagnosethecausesforlackofrepeatabilitybetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofprecision.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldselectagroupoftestspecimensandvisuallyexaminetheirfailuremodes.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldthenbecomparedusingStudentrsquo;t-testforunpaireddataandanacceptableprobabilitylevelshouldbechosenbythetwopartiesbeforetestingisbegun.FIG.1OneTypeofKnifeApplicator1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresbywhichautohesivescanbetestedinfourcommonlypracticedstressingmodes,namely:compressionshear,cleavage,climbingdrumpeel,andT-peel,andinvariouscombinationsofrigid-to-rigid,flexible-to-rigid,andflexible-to-flexibleadherendsthatincludewood,aluminum,steelflakeboard,andplasticlaminates.Quantitativetestmethodsthatinvolvebondformationbyimpactarealsoprovided.Threepressuremodesareprovided:static,roller,andimpact.Becausetherearemanytypesofcontactadhesivesbeingusedtobondmanydifferentmaterialsunderwidelydifferingconditions,thesetestmethodsaredesignedtoallowtheusertoselectthetestmode,coatingthickness,temperatureandrelativehumidityconditions,pressuremagnitudeandmode,opentime,andbond-conditioningtime.1.1.1Thebond-formationprocessusedwithautohesivesisunlikethatofallotheradhesivesandinconsequence,testingofautohesivesrequiresmethodsthatareunlikethoseprovidedbyotherASTMstandards.SeeAnnexA1.1.2Achoiceofadherendsisavailableineachtestmode.ThecombinationofadherendsthatcanbebondedtogetherislimitedtothoseshowninAppendixX1.1.3Methodsforapplicationofpressureareavailableineachtestmode.Foraparticularcombinationofsubstrates,themeansavailableforapplicationofpressurearelimitedtothoseshowninAppendixX2.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificprecautionarystatementsaregivenin7.5.
